Ft. Lauderdale Day 2

Yepper!  This is what I'm talking about....high tide for
me to scale the wall on!
 "Deliverance" at your service!
It took an hour for the big boat to fill up!
Holy Moly the money that must have cost him!
It's been raining most of the day and just out of the blue
the sky clears up in this one spot for our sunset picture!  Wow!

Well today didn't turn out exactly like I thought it would.  We were supposed to go into town to the Publix and pick up the rest of the groceries for the trip and my Christmas tree.  It didn't happen though.  It started raining as soon as we were ready to go and never stopped until around 6 or so.  So it looks like tomorrow is going to be the big day since we are leaving in the a.m. on Wednesday for the Bahamas! Our phones has been scheduled to be turned off for 3 months on Wednesday a.m. and internet service will be at the same time.  I hate turning off my electronics!  But! As soon as I get to Bimini I will get BTC telephone service and pick up an internet card.

I doubt that I will be able to blog nightly once we get there.  I'll have a card but we will be in more desolate areas than not.  So whenever I can I will be online, hopefully, more often than not!

Our morning sunrise leaving North Palm Beach/Lake Worth
 Always loved this building!
I was taking a picture of the sun with the clouds...
the birds were a bonus!
Our approach into Palm Beach.  This dude is into color!
Great party place with your own slide!
Could definitely use a new flag though!
 Pretty palms!
Can you imagine how much this is going to cost...
We think it's probably being bottom painted!
Check out the keel on this sailboat!
 Boats on a boat!
 SLIM
 Derek & Shelley's new home??
Check out how the water is slapping the seawall....
The current is flooding about 3 knots.
Look how calm it is on the other side of the wall!
 Orange hull?  Yikes!
 Ahhhh....Venus
 Anybody recognize that name?
Mike Petrick - could be our next president!  heehee!
Mega million boats! Shew!
This guy must of thought he had more money....
Didn't have enough "cents" to make it happen though!
This little guy is just running back and forth barking at the slapping
water....it's an all day workout....there are a lot of boats out here keeping
him happy!
 Enough said....
 Another beautiful home going up....
look in the corner of the smaller addition....
There is a tree made of cast iron or something molded to the house!
 Nice boat garage!
If this is the tender (dinghy) to "Cold Gecko"
I'd love to see the Cold Gecko!
I don't know what it is about this house...
but I just love it!
Boca Raton...this is where we would have dropped anchor had we
moved up here
This is the place we went out and had drinks at the other night
from the ICW view of it!
You know your either coming or going into Boca Raton
when you see the pink building!
 Sea turtle !!
 This is a great picture!
The blue sign between the two poles says "Deerfield Cay"
Home of Buddy Sparrow
He didn't sell out to the condos on either side.
His little oasis!
This is where it's actually at....
On a strip of high rises!! - this is one man that refused to sell!
Love the deco's here....baby giraffe, lions head....
Elephant with a birdie house hanging next to him....
and if you look closely....there is a tiger standing next
to the white fence looking at the elephant!
Yay! Fort Lauderdale! It's been a long day but sure felt
good getting out of Lake Worth!
Every place around here is bigger and better than the next
and has a boat just as big or bigger than their homes!
This one doesn't look very big but it's a lot bigger than it appears!
This boat was so big....I had to go to the very front of our boat
to get the whole thing in the shot!
(By the way, see the blue water jugs...they are full and ready
for the Bahamas!  We just read yesterday that it's only a dollar
a foot to get a slip in Bimini...but it's 70 cents a gallon for water!
Sure will miss picking up a hose and filling the tank!
We have dropped anchor near the Middle River area...
that's where we will go to get our mail and Christmas tree...
however, if you look closely, in this shot you lock your dinghy
to one of the signs on the wall there, then you hopefully have
high tide to help you get over the wall, walk across the street,
and you are now on the ocean side.  Lot's of sand, water, and
even a guard on duty!
 Our sunset tonight!
We got the best anchorage in town!
Look at this piece of property!!
The whole view of it at night!

Remember this shot from the other day when Bob was fixing my SSB?
Well Bob got an honorable mention in Ross and Randy's blog post....
They are building a house and are doing a blog on it's progress...
Go to it and you will see a picture of our escape window!
And judging from Bob's butt it is the perfect size!

It sure felt good being underway again!  Between being in Lake Worth and working on curtains I was going a little crazy!

It was a long day.  We followed 4 boats most of the day so Bob didn't have to call to request bridge openings until near Ft. Lauderdale.  Still windy but warm.

It is just amazing all of the money.  You don't see these beautiful houses when you visit the various cities on the way down.  The only way you see them is by boat.  We figured we were passing about $1 billion dollars worth of houses every 5 to 10 minutes.  All of these houses were at least a million (Bob looks at the real estate section of the papers when he picks them up), most $2 million or more.

We had a great sunset and happy hour.  All of the lights in the buildings and now the Christmas lights were just beautiful.

Last night in Lake Worth!??!

November 28, 2015

This is what Jon & Jen wake up to now in the mornings!
They are just standing around making noises!  How cute is that!
Look at my Cameron with "bed head!"
That's right Andrew
Grandma knows you're thinking about her...
after all, I taught you the "sticking out the tongue thingy!"
I'm still waiting for mommy and daddy to thank me :-)
See we told ya!  Everyday is an adventure!
Mommy & Daddy are getting a tree for Samantha!
(our kitty) and we got to help pick it out!
LAST day working on curtains.  Still have the two in the front window
to finish but like not having curtains up there at the moment.  I even made
a couple of pillows with the material on the other side!
Our blue lights....that's our sunset for the night! heehee!

Well another busy day today.  Bob ran into town and did some last minute running around while I finished working on the curtains.  We are planning on leaving tomorrow to get to Ft. Lauderdale to set ourselves up for the crossing.  First we have to get our mail!  If the weather changes, we are going to cancel the mail delivery and just start heading to the Bahamas. We shall see!

Lake Worth again!

November 27, 2015
It doesn't get any better than this! My awesome grandchildren!
Today I became eligible for social security....hee hee

 Andrew loves his puffs!
Cameron says "me too! me too!"
And guess what else we love....
We LOVE Mexican food!
We had a taco without the shell for lunch and we loved
our chicken, tomatoes, guacamole, rice and black beans!
We ate all of it!!
Another great day hanging out with our parents! We never
know what's going to happen next, but we absolutely love the adventure!

Today was a great day!  It was like I was with Jon, Jen and the babies all day.  They went to Valley View Farms, out to lunch, Targets, and hung out with each other last night!

Since it was my special day, Bob went to Publix and bought 10 gallons of water to put into our water tank so I could shower for my birthday (awe) and do the dishes (bigger awe :-)). We played cards and I kicked his butt!  Yes! Finally!  Then we decided to go to "Duffy's" the local bar and ended up having a great time there!

We hope to cross over on Wednesday, Bob's birthday! to the Bahamas.  We have a two day, maybe three day crossing during that time frame, otherwise, it's back to sitting again for who knows how long.  We forgot to have our mail sent and there are a couple of things in the package that we need...so Tuesday it should arrive at the UPS Store in Ft. Lauderdale hopefully.  We still need to get from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami for the cross over...however, we could do it from Ft. Lauderdale and may need to.  It's just that we would need to go south in the ocean to Miami and then start crossing over....we need to follow the Gulf stream!  Who knows !!

Thank you for all the birthday wishes!  (Oh and Nikki, that was very sneaky but I loved it!)
