Cumberland Island, GA Day 2

Wednesday, November 4, 2015
Good morning from Cumberland Island!
This is a Navy Tow boat to move the subs around
 Entering Cumberland Island
This is known as the Dungeness area
I'm taking pictures of the beauty around the place and Bob &
Gary said "what are you doing that's just brush! They are not even
flowers!"
This is Carnegie Dungeness in it's hayday!
It burned down in the 1950's
 The entrance to Dungeness's Ruins
This is the front part of Dungeness
It was built in 1884
The back of Dungeness
This was the home the boys came home to when they
had a break from school
These buildings are used today for the workers on the property
Look!  Horses have got to be here!
More beauty - I snuck this shot in on the boys!
 Here they are!  Heese!
Eat, roam and sleep - and lets not forget poop!
 Fire Department
This vehicle doesn't look like it's been used in a long, long time
but! if you look at the license plate it doesn't expire until Dec. 2018!
 More beauty
 and again....
I kept hearing this really loud buzzing sound
I find 3 of these dragonflies doing their thing whatever that may be
and as soon as I took this shot...one of them took off
and the other two....
 sat as still as possible!
Keeping my eye out for deer now!
(Never did see one)
They are building a walkway close to the beach
And at the end of the walkway is Gary!
We are on ocean side now
There are a lot of these guys hangin' around on the beach
They are all dead of course
 Look at all the birds!
Look at Bob trying to talk to the birds!
 Check out the fishing boats
They were everywhere!
Everyone is returning and settling down again
 I love them!
Wind swept tree from wind from the ocean
 More scenery
 Fungi
Now how did (s)he get on the island!
 Back where we started
Storymaker is on the starboard side of the building
Dream Catcher on the port side
Same picture - no building :-)
 Our sunset tonight
Isn't it just amazing!

Bob and I had a 2 hour coffee then Gary picked us up about 10:30.
We didn't want to be walking at the heat of the day, but it seemed
like it was anyway.  We sweated the whole walk.  Got out to the
beach which was real flat.  Plenty of gulls and dead horseshoe
crabs.  Only saw 5 people in the 2 hours we walked around.
I got some pretty good blisters, which caused us to cut our
hike only by a little bit.  Once Bob and I got back we had
a pretty good nappy.  Then just watched TV and played cards.
