Ft. Lauderdale

Our morning sunrise leaving North Palm Beach/Lake Worth
 Always loved this building!
I was taking a picture of the sun with the clouds...
the birds were a bonus!
Our approach into Palm Beach.  This dude is into color!
Great party place with your own slide!
Could definitely use a new flag though!
 Pretty palms!
Can you imagine how much this is going to cost...
We think it's probably being bottom painted!
Check out the keel on this sailboat!
 Boats on a boat!
 SLIM
 Derek & Shelley's new home??
Check out how the water is slapping the seawall....
The current is flooding about 3 knots.
Look how calm it is on the other side of the wall!
 Orange hull?  Yikes!
 Ahhhh....Venus
 Anybody recognize that name?
Mike Petrick - could be our next president!  heehee!
Mega million boats! Shew!
This guy must of thought he had more money....
Didn't have enough "cents" to make it happen though!
This little guy is just running back and forth barking at the slapping
water....it's an all day workout....there are a lot of boats out here keeping
him happy!
 Enough said....
 Another beautiful home going up....
look in the corner of the smaller addition....
There is a tree made of cast iron or something molded to the house!
 Nice boat garage!
If this is the tender (dinghy) to "Cold Gecko"
I'd love to see the Cold Gecko!
I don't know what it is about this house...
but I just love it!
Boca Raton...this is where we would have dropped anchor had we
moved up here
This is the place we went out and had drinks at the other night
from the ICW view of it!
You know your either coming or going into Boca Raton
when you see the pink building!
 Sea turtle !!
 This is a great picture!
The blue sign between the two poles says "Deerfield Cay"
Home of Buddy Sparrow
He didn't sell out to the condos on either side.
His little oasis!
This is where it's actually at....
On a strip of high rises!! - this is one man that refused to sell!
Love the deco's here....baby giraffe, lions head....
Elephant with a birdie house hanging next to him....
and if you look closely....there is a tiger standing next
to the white fence looking at the elephant!
Yay! Fort Lauderdale! It's been a long day but sure felt
good getting out of Lake Worth!
Every place around here is bigger and better than the next
and has a boat just as big or bigger than their homes!
This one doesn't look very big but it's a lot bigger than it appears!
This boat was so big....I had to go to the very front of our boat
to get the whole thing in the shot!
(By the way, see the blue water jugs...they are full and ready
for the Bahamas!  We just read yesterday that it's only a dollar
a foot to get a slip in Bimini...but it's 70 cents a gallon for water!
Sure will miss picking up a hose and filling the tank!
We have dropped anchor near the Middle River area...
that's where we will go to get our mail and Christmas tree...
however, if you look closely, in this shot you lock your dinghy
to one of the signs on the wall there, then you hopefully have
high tide to help you get over the wall, walk across the street,
and you are now on the ocean side.  Lot's of sand, water, and
even a guard on duty!
 Our sunset tonight!
We got the best anchorage in town!
Look at this piece of property!!
The whole view of it at night!

Remember this shot from the other day when Bob was fixing my SSB?
Well Bob got an honorable mention in Ross and Randy's blog post....
They are building a house and are doing a blog on it's progress...
Go to it and you will see a picture of our escape window!
And judging from Bob's butt it is the perfect size!

It sure felt good being underway again!  Between being in Lake Worth and working on curtains I was going a little crazy!

It was a long day.  We followed 4 boats most of the day so Bob didn't have to call to request bridge openings until near Ft. Lauderdale.  Still windy but warm.

It is just amazing all of the money.  You don't see these beautiful houses when you visit the various cities on the way down.  The only way you see them is by boat.  We figured we were passing about $1 billion dollars worth of houses every 5 to 10 minutes.  All of these houses were at least a million (Bob looks at the real estate section of the papers when he picks them up), most $2 million or more.

We had a great sunset and happy hour.  All of the lights in the buildings and now the Christmas lights were just beautiful.
