Little Farmers Cay 2/5/16

You see the barge coming in....it was 0700 hours....
I was sleeping when all of a sudden I was awaken by all this
loud music...it's a boat full of Bahamians from other islands coming
over for the rest of the weekend for the party!  Let the party begin!!
 This morning in Little Farmers
Look how calm the water is
Barracuda hanging off the back of our boat!
Planes have been coming and going all morning!
 Ready for take-off!
 I will be back!
 Bahamian races are starting
The boat that came in this morning blaring their music!
 Little Farmers Yacht Club!
 Little Farmers YC marina
 more competition!
 House on the water
 Beautiful scenery!
We did learn that the cay property is owned by the government
but if you start building a house on a piece of the property the
government gives you the land...many Bahamians don't realize
how costly it is to build a house and end of walking away from it
however, they still own the property...with an unfinished house
The Bahamians cut through the anchorage before beginning the races
 Other side of the island
Coming up to the party!
 Ready! Set! Go!
 Ty's Beach Bar
Jay & Joan were over at our boat looking for us while
we were over at Ty's looking for them!
Coming up on a couple of Spotted Eagle Rays!
Very majestic.  This guy's wingspan was probably 5-6 feet!
 5 Second Eagle Ray Video!
 Turtle going under our dinghy
 Turtles galore!  Turtles everywhere!
 Joan, Jay and Bobby!
Now let paddle board races begin!
 Beautiful harbor!
Joan & Jay are going for the pork! (I think!?)
Ocean Cabin - Love it! Read the hours!!
 Yummmmm....Sheep Tongue!
Bar to the left.....cashier to the right....
same girl!
And here's, "Bread Boy!"
He owns the company that brings tourists (cruise ship
passengers, visitors from Nassau) to the various islands,
especially to Piggie Island.
 Heavy conversation!
Yummy Rum drink!
 From top of hill
That's right!  I made them stop playing freeze-it tag to take
a picture with me....but on their terms.....the girl to the right of me
told me the first time I asked if I could have a picture taken with them
"No, I'm sorry, we are playing a game right now...." I said no problem
I will wait until you have a break.....I finally get my picture and thank them....
A bit later I see my sweet little girl again and as she is walking by me
she is giving another little kid a mean look and gives her the finger! What
happen to my sweet little girl!
 Cindy, Tom, Jay, and Bob
10th phone booth, out of 10, that does not work!
I've still have those 3, $10 cards!
This is a house on the side of the road that is
for rent if interested!??!
This was a bar at one time!
And they say a Deere never stops running!
You will notice this Bahamian is laid back with his feet laying
on the window sill....but did you notice his tennis shoes are on
top of his roof!  I asked him why his shoes were up there
and he wouldn't tell me.
Stopping by to see the woodworking.
J.R.'s is a wood carving place....
 Another scenic shot
This is the best place to go for "lightly breaded conch!"
 Let the races begin!
Some of the cruisers followed them around
 Sea plane landed near us
 Cindy, me and Tom
Jay is a brat!  He brings me this package of wonderful pecan
shortbread cookies (not knowing how much I love them)....I
open them up and there was a bag of really bad burned peanuts we
bought in town today, that no one would eat in town!
So much for those yummy cookies!

Well, there are certain days of your life that you say, "Wow!  That was really a great day!  Really one of the best of my life!"  Everything was just so perfect.  Everything aligned and played out just right.

We sat in the shade for morning coffee for the usual 1 1/2 hours while watching all of the little local sailboats warm up for the races.  No clouds.  5 knots of wind.  Then Bob and I went dinghying around the island to check it out.  Then we met up with Jay and Joan and walked town, got a few beers, had some conch fritters, talked to the locals, met Bread Boy and Axe Man, and others.  Beautiful views all around, all the time.  Then met up with Tom and Cindy and met some of their friends.  Then a couple more beers.  Still nice and calm.  Then over to our boat for perfect sunset Happy Hour.

Thank you God for another Beautiful, Safe, and Healthy Day!
