This is the house across from us that has all the palm tree lights
on at night....it's just beautiful!
Another house next door to it...the thing is huge!
Nice fish!
We pull anchor this morning and we are to the right of the large
boat on a mooring ball you see in the picture!
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
at the Kraft house! Do you see Samantha
sitting next to the tree on the left? :-)
They boys sleeping in front of the fireplace
with their stockings hung with care!
What a whirlwind of a day! I don't even know where to start.
Our starboard engine has been difficult to start in the last 2 trips and would not accelerate smoothly when we first take off and then it seems to build itself back up, appears to be ok until we start it again. We have been working with our mechanic (Tom Akers - thanks for being there and for your quick email responses and phone calls) on the issue and he says that he thinks there is dirt or air in the fuel line. While Bob was trying to clear it we found a stripped screw in the fuel filter housing so we had to find another fuel filter housing case. We find one, out by the airport, so Bob rents a car to go and get it. Somehow there was a mix-up in how long Bob wanted the car and they gave it to him for 30 days. When he returned the car they asked him why he was back and he said because it was almost 6 pm. Then Bob had to prove to them he only wanted the car for a couple of hours because they told him he wanted it for 30 days. He brought up the email receipt and it said 1 day only. What a fiasco. The worst part was, looking at the map, it only looked like a mile walk but it turned out to be 4 miles. In his rush he didn't do Google directions to see how far it was. Bob ended up walking mostly in the pouring down rain.
Now it's about 6 p.m. and I still haven't gotten my tree. Bob got the car back at 5:50 pm due to rush hour traffic (it's pig-like - he said he felt like he was driving around the Baltimore Beltway). Bob is home and is totally exhausted from running around all day but he told me on the phone prior to getting back that we would walk down and get the tree (probably about a mile away). I had decided I wasn't going to make him do that after the day he had, I would just have to come up with another idea for a tree.
In the meantime, Bob is home and we made the decision to wait another day before leaving as he still would have to install the fuel filter housing. And even though it's an original manufacturer part from Yanmar, he still has to drill out the mounting holes as they were too small for the bolts. We have a 3-day window for crossing so we decided not to try and rush it...that's how mistakes and bad decisions are made.
We we've had dinner, texted a couple of people, and are now going to bed. Shewww! What a day!
