Shroud Cay Day 3

I'm trying to get my email to work via SSB
Beautiful sky!
Gizmo must need to go potty!
Another beaut!
This moth loves Bob...he follows him everywhere!

Today was like being in Key West!  The winds have been wicked!  They’ve been averaging 25 with gusts to 32+.  We are anchored down nice and snug so no worries.  There are 3 other boats here with us.  They are a little closer to shore so they have been a rockin’ and a rollin’.  In fact, one of them pulled anchor and went to a calmer anchorage just around the corner from here.  Another one pulled anchor and moved a little bit further out by us, and the other is still sitting close to shore.  They have a Jack Russell, Gizmo, which will NOT go to the bathroom on the boat so they have to take him to shore at least twice a day I would think.

Since today was a “do not get off the boat type of day” we did some work around it.  I worked on the SSB radio and tried to connect the email to the radio but was not able to make the connection.  I’ve assigned Bob to go through all his paperwork and find the notes I had taken in class so I can try making the connection again.  Tomorrow’s job J

So after working with the SSB for a couple of hours I decided to try and connect my internet booster again.  I paid a lot of good money for it a couple of years ago but never managed to get it up and running.  Well, guess what!?  I did it!  Not that it matters in this particular area since there are no towers, whatsoever, at least when we get somewhere else with a tower I should be able to get a decent signal! Yeah for me!

Bob worked on a lot of little things that have been put aside for a while.  He finally got his dinghy safety bag put together and is very proud of that!  He also cleaned the cockpit out, which I was very proud of him for doing! He also got a lot of lubing done which is a must, and most of the time doesn’t get done until it needs attending to, and we can’t do anything with it because the salt has corroded it to the point where it’s barely moveable. So lots of good things happened today!

I made pot pie for dinner tonight….just not the same with canned goods!  We haven’t seen fresh veggies since we crossed over so we are making the best of it.  Well, that’s not true….we did see them in Highbourne, but they wanted gold for them so I didn’t purchase any J

We will be sitting here again tomorrow since the winds will still be pushing 25+ knots.
