Merry Christmas Everyone!!

Well we did it!  We made it to Staniel Cay and found internet and cell phone service!  I was able to talk to Jenny!  and of course Jon and the boys!  Merry Christmas to me!

We had a great day today.  I think we went into town around 11 a.m. and went straight to the Staniel Cay Yacht Club for very tasty beverages!  It only cost me 2 beers and 3 Goombay’s to catch up the blog there.  It’s not done by any means, but it has pictures and a synopsis of each day we have been traveling!  It’s a great start!  I’ll have to go back tomorrow to try and finish it, hee hee!

While I was doing the blog Bob was doing his rounds.  He did a lot of exploring and taking pictures as you can see by some that have been posted!  He also was talking with a guy, Henry from Peru, and his wife, Anna, from Columbia.  They flew in today and are/were waiting on a boat to come in with some of their friends on board.  We hope to see them again!

While walking the town we met some really great people; the Buchanan’s.  They are from South Bend, Indiana.  One of them is actually a Battalion Chief at one of the fire companies there!  They have been coming here for the last 5 years.  Hopefully we will run into them again!  I said something to them about bringing them over to “piggy island” and they are all for it….but not sure how many dinghy trips that would be, and I’m a little nervous about the “little ones…” we may have to discuss further with them!

As you can see in all the pictures J we went back up to visit with piggies!!  This time we brought 4 -1 gallon jugs of watermaker water with us!  Once we finished playing with them we grabbed their plastic water container and brought it back to the boat with us.  There are holes in the bottom of it, so we are going to tape them up so the water lasts a little bit longer for them.  I also have a planter box on board that I’m going to donate to them, better chance of more of them getting water!  There are little piggy’s running around everywhere!  It’s wonderful!

After watering the piggy’s we went to another beach and found some people just hanging out.  We stayed for a little bit before making our way back to the boat.  Life is grand!
